On the morning of May 9, the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and the Lifelong Education College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University officially inked a partnership agreement. The ceremony was graced by key figures including Singapore’s Consul General in Shanghai, Loh Tuck Keat; SIM President and CEO, Dr. Wei Kwok Kee; SJTU’s Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President, Hu Weiwei; and SJTU Lifelong Education College’s Party Committee Secretary, Jiang Lifeng.

Hu Weiwei extended a warm welcome to the SIM delegation and showcased SJTU’s strides in global education, talent development, and research innovation. She envisioned the agreement as a springboard for deeper collaboration, societal impact, and educational innovation, aiming to nurture globally minded professionals.

Loh Tuck Keat hailed the partnership as a "landmark in China-Singapore educational ties," promising expanded opportunities for students. He pledged ongoing support from the Singapore Consulate, hoping the initiative would set a benchmark for bilateral cultural exchange.

Wei Kwok Kee shared SIM’s mission as a top Asian vocational and lifelong learning hub, applauding SJTU’s academic excellence. He stressed that the alliance would combine both institutions’ academic clout, industry connections, and regional reach to pioneer cross-border education models, fueling talent pipelines for the Asia-Pacific and global markets.

Jiang Lifeng outlined the college’s global initiatives, rooted in SJTU’s century-old legacy. With partnerships spanning prestigious universities worldwide, the college offers programs like study abroad, international student exchanges, and summer research. Plans include resource integration and industry-academia synergy to elevate lifelong learning offerings.

The event, chaired by Vice Dean of SJTU Lifelong Education College Wang Xinrong, saw participation from SJTU’s Academic Affairs and International Offices.

This strategic tie-up positions SJTU and SIM to redefine international talent development, marking a fresh milestone in China-Singapore educational collaboration.
